The human body contains both prenatal Qi and postnatal Qi. In ancient times, there was a saying: “Absorb the yang of Heaven to nourish Qi, drink the yin of Earth to nourish the blood.” Nature and the human body form an inseparable whole; therefore, we must pay attention to the mutual influence between the body’s systems, as well as the relationship between the mind and the physical form, in order to observe and address imbalances.
However, in daily life, we constantly worry about work, family, emotions, desires, and countless responsibilities. These drain our mental and physical energy, consuming our essence (jing), Qi, and spirit (shen). Combined with the rapid pace of modern technology, overwhelming information flow, and global food pollution, our prenatal Qi is gradually depleted and our postnatal Qi weakens. What we expend exceeds what we replenish. Under such conditions, many people find that before the age of forty, most of their essence, Qi, and spirit have already been exhausted. The body begins to show signs of illness or falls into sub‑health; vitality declines, fatigue increases, and premature aging sets in. 我們人體擁有先天之氣和後天之氣,在古代已有「吸天陽以養氣,飲地陰以養血」之說 。大自然和人體是一個不可分割的整體,應該注意身體各組織系統之間、精神與之間的互相制約、從中觀察及處理問題。
但因為平常生活中,需要操心工作、家庭、七情六慾的情緒波動……等等許多問題,都會耗費我們的心力與腦力,損耗了精、氣、神。再加上現代科技世代急速,資訊量太多太快而導致的緊張壓力,全球飲食的污染,使先天精氣日消,後天之氣日衰,入不付出,這樣的情況下,未到四十歲,人的精、氣、神便耗散了大半,身體出現一些疾病或者處在亞健康狀態,精力、體力衰退,未老先衰。
Through practicing “Kunda Eight Meridians Dragon Qigong,” one learns to breathe and enter stillness. As the saying goes, “Within stillness lies a vast universe; within the vessel, the sun and moon endure.” Entering stillness means understanding the relationship between consciousness and Qi. It is often said: “When the spirit gathers, Qi condenses.” Conversely, Qi also stabilizes and anchors the spirit. A person with weak Qi often experiences scattered thoughts, mental fog, and restless sleep filled with dreams. But through the training of Kunda Eight Meridians Dragon Qigong, health can be regulated, meridians can open, and the practice deepens. One learns to strengthen Qi without relying on medicine, achieving self‑healing and replenishing one’s foundational energy. This is the manifestation of Qi subduing the wandering mind, allowing spirit and Qi to merge.
Qigong has varying depths, and only by entering stillness can one truly enter the state of Qi cultivation. As the classics say: “In tranquility and emptiness, spiritual energy arises.” In this state, Qi can be activated; the deeper the stillness, the faster true Qi emerges.
